3rd Annual Night of Hope: A Golden Evening

On August 20th, 260 Hillcrest Hope donors and supporters gathered for Hillcrest Hope’s Third Annual “Night of Hope” Gala. The celebration of a generous community and the graduate families of Hillcrest Hope took place at the beautiful Heritage Hall in Liberty. This festive evening raised funds to continue the transformation happening every day with families at Hillcrest Hope. Through this support, families are restored.

With a notable lineup of sponsors, Gala guests enjoyed a beautiful meal catered by Shining Stars catering, as well as drink tastings by Breckenridge Distillery. The Gala welcomed guests dressed in black, white, and gold party attire.

After the first round of cocktails were poured and dinner was served, Hillcrest Hope Executive Director, Laurie Sutton, kicked off the program. She shared of the significant accomplishments and strides made by and on behalf of the families served at Hillcrest Hope: the $18,000 worth of dental work and dignity provided Hillcrest Hope families thanks to the generosity of Seaport Family Dentistry; the $244,000+ in debts resolved by graduates in the past year; and the seemingly small yet infinitely powerful 4 families reunited with their children due to the safety and stability created through their transformation at Hillcrest Hope.

The Dedicated Volunteer Award was given to Judy Mullen, and 2012 program graduate Trisha shared her story of the life-changing impact of Hillcrest Hope’s support. Her words were a testimony of the restoration not only through education and accountability the program provides, but also the hope that is made new.

As she completed her story, she received a warm standing ovation. “It meant a lot to see, first hand, the transformative story and what Hillcrest Hope is all about. I’m thankful my wife, Tracy, and I were able to be a part of the event and provide help to other families,” shared Chris Humphreys, first time Gala attendee.

In the wake of Trisha’s story, Auctioneer Tanna Guthrie rose to ask attendees to “Fund the Need,” an opportunity to provide for Hillcrest Hope to continue to carry its mission forward.

Next the live auction took off, with playful competition and excitement over desirable items. The enjoyment over won auction items and the phenomenal stories of graduates all led to an outpouring of generosity. “The evening was equal parts inspiring and fun. It felt great to be a part of such a meaningful cause, and to see first-hand the transformation that Hillcrest Hope can make for families,” Chris Humphreys explained.

Hillcrest Hope keeps its families at the heart of every aspect of the Gala. “Each year, this event is a tremendous opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of our Hillcrest Hope families, bring awareness to the need Hillcrest Hope is meeting in Clay County, and experience the generosity and support of our community,” Laurie Sutton, Executive Director, shared.

Hillcrest Hope thanks all who attended the third annual Night of Hope, those who provided the abundance of raffle and auction prizes, and the event’s amazing sponsors: Platte Valley BankGM Peters InsuranceHallmarkHeartland Chevrolet, Pony Express Bank, KCB Bank, and Hoover & Hibdon, PC.
